Dodital is situated at an altitude of 3024 m from sea level, north of Uttarkashi and surrounded by dense woods of oak, pine, deodar and rhododendrons. The amazing lake is full of rare fishes and the Himalayan Golden Trouts. The trek to Dodital commences from Uttarkashi to Sangamchatti and is accessible by motor. Sangamchatti to Agoda is gradual climb through woods, fields and villages on a mule track. The trek from Agoda to Dodital is steep and through dense forests with occasional views of Banderpunch peak and Dayara Bugyal on the other side.

Dodital is the pristine lake is Garhwal Himalayas which is surrounded by dense Pine, Oak and Deodar trees. Dodital also means Ganesh-Ka-Tal, holding a special place in Hindu mythology as it is believed to be the birthplace of Hindu deity, Lord Ganesha. Dodital Lake, a wonderful confluence of beauty and adventure, is a small hill station in the lap of the Dodital Himalaya. Dodital is one of the popular destinations for nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts, considered as one of the most beautiful lakes in India. Dodi Tal is a beautiful lake of Uttarakhand, a beautiful lake for Himalayan trout.
Dodi Tal is situated at an elevation of 3024 meters (9921 ft) above the sea. This beautiful tourist destination is surrounded by mountains, grasslands and forest on all sides, according to mythology it was born Lord Ganesha, there is also a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. This lake is also known as Ganesh Ka Tal or Ganesh Lake, this pool originated from the source of natural waterfalls and ASI Ganga River.
Dodital is nothing less than a haven for trekkers. Dodital has always been attracting tourists towards it, that is why even today, hundreds of tourists from the country and abroad continue to visit Dodi Tal. It can be reached in two days by trekking 22km from Dodi Tal Sangam Chatti. Dodital attracts tourists from Hemsa itself. Sweet serene clean water can also be experienced in Dodital, famous trout fishes of the Himalayan region are also found in this pool. Which attracts the travelers. Surrounded by dense forests on all sides, this pool captivates tourists.

Airport - To reach here you can reach Bayer to Jolly Grant Airport, you can easily go by bus or taxi from Jolly Grant Airport to Dodital is 207 kilometers.
Train - You can also reach Dehradun by train easily from Dehradun to Dodital by bus or car. Distance from Dehradun to Dodital is 201 kilometers.


Dodital Trek Itnery



Day 01: Rishikesh to Sangamchatti
Arrive at Rishikesh station early in the morning and from here drive to the road-head at Sangamchatti. The drive takes you through the picturesque Garhwal Mountains. Overnight stay in tents/hotel.

Day 02: Sangamchatti to Bevera (7kms trek-2300mtrs)
After early breakfast start of trek to Bevera through Agora village. Arrive at Bevera explore the Assi Ganga Valley, hot lunch will be at served at campsite. Evening tea, snacks,dinner and overnight stay in tents.

Day 03: Bevera to Manjhi (9 kms trek, height 3150mtrs)
After early break fast start to Manjhi through the oak & pine forest with a steep climb somewhere. Arrival at Manjhi hot lunch . After some hot drink and snacks, you will have the time to visit the local's summer huts and explore the area and if you are interested to know about the traditional culture. In the evening after tea and snacks, soup, Dinner and overnight stay in the tents. 

Day 04: Manjhi to Dodital (5kms trek -3350mtrs)
After breakfast trek to Dodital from Manjhi the easiest trek you must say so far. Reaching at Dodital have hot lunch after that you can go for explore Dodital like to see the many species of trout fish like brown trout ,rainbow trout and black trout you can go also for worship at mother Annapurna's temple. And can do a lot of fun. And enjoy the beauty of Dodilake. In the evening after tea and snacks, soup, Dinner and overnight stay in the tents.

Day 05: Dodital to Darwa top (5kms trek one side-4351mtrs)
After early breakfast, trek to Darwa Pass begins the final uphill job,with the packed lunch. The beautiful l view of majestic Himalayan range from Darwa top. The unforgettable experience. The trekkers can do photography and relax at the with greenery surroundings them and Himalayas facing them.After having packed lunch and relaxing the return to Dodital, On reaching Dodital hot tea with snacks. After camp fire soup and dinner, overnight stay at tents.

Day 06: Dodital to Bevera(14kms-2300mtrs)
After breakfast the returning to begin towards Bevera with packed lunch. On reaching Bevera hot tea and snacks are served. The trekkers can enjoy the white water fuming, roaring Bevera river. Sitting along Bevera river on rocks and soaking your feet with the icy water can immediately relax you along with hot soup and snacks. Dinner and stay in the tents.

Day 07: Bevera to Sangamchatti to Rishikesh
After early breakfast, walk 7km downhill; 2hrs to road head and drive 8hrs to Rishikesh. Overnight in camp/hotel.

Day 08: Departure
Morning after breakfast departure to your next destination.
